Anise and Austin – An Engagement Session We Can All Dig

June 5, 2020

Engagement sessions are one of my favorite parts of the wedding photography process. Many times it’s where I get to learn more about you as a couple and experience how you interact in your relationship, and we learn what to expect from each other on your BIG day to make everything that is wedding day photography run flawlessly!

Everyone who lives in Milwaukee has their favorite spots whether it be the beaches, parks, the botanical gardens, city views, and the ever popular Calatrava. For Anise and Austin’s engagement session, they insisted on something perfectly unique!

We had bounced ideas off one another and had come up with the quarry at their family business, and I was so elated to shoot something so different! We made our way to Oakfield Stone Co. in Fon du Lac where we continued to shoot on a very frigid March day. (Though you would never tell by the photos!..Anise you are SUCH a trooper!) We were even lucky enough to have Austin’s parents test the limits of their truck, toting us around from spot to spot among the crazy rocks! The early evening sun and visible moon made for the perfect moody background for their otherworldly-looking engagement portraits.

I look forward to photographing this gorgeous couple again in October, where they will exchange vows and celebrate with family and friends in Germantown!
